ABOUT STUDIO RIGU

Studio RIGU is the brainchild of Riya Gupta. Born in New Delhi, Riya studied Design and Development from London College of Fashion and spent several years gaining a wide range of experience in various roles throughout the industry. After returning to her hometown, she realised a lack in the availability of comfortable, formal wear for the modern woman and hence, gave birth to Studio RIGU.

Since their inception in 2018, the label has been synonymous with the ideology of ’Empowered Femininity’. Transcending trends, the RIGU brand provides transformative clothes to meet the everyday needs of the globetrotting woman. RIGU creates everyday luxury with a modern sensibility, known for its calculated yet eccentric minimalism and thoughtful detailing. A subtle tension between the masculine and feminine underpins each collection. By mixing menswear fabrics into feminine silhouettes, the label enhances and challenges the conventional designs of power dressing.

The brand is a collection of modern silhouettes embracing the relaxed sensibility of a contemporary lifestyle, creating clothes women can live in. Individualistic in their demeanour, each piece is created to be carried with confidence. Comfort transcends all and each piece is designed by keeping that factor in mind.

ABOUT THE COLLECTION

LÈHER

A love letter of a woman to herself, LÈHER - the Hindi translation of wave, is a proclamation of the inherent romanticism of being. Colors, shapes, and fabrics complement each other like the tides of a wave in a beautiful embrace.

A seasonless 2021/22 collection; it is an ode to bridge the gap between the two dichotomies of a woman: modern and traditional.

LÈHER exemplifies RIGU’s commitment to detailed craftsmanship and sustainability, as displayed by this ready-to-wear line. Made in regenerated cellulose fibers of cupro fabric, this collection also includes pieces from 100% poplin and linen satin fabrics. The

long-standing artisanal techniques of tie-dyeing, itajime dyeing, and ombre dyeing are merged with these strong western power dressing silhouettes.

The collection has been designed by Studio RIGU's Founder- Riya Gupta.

Riya’s vision was to ‘create modern silhouettes by embracing the relaxed sensibility of a contemporary lifestyle, creating clothes women can live in.’ Steering away from stereotypical interpretations of luxury, the range contains the noisiest elements of color-blocking, prints, and an exaggeration of construction & deconstruction in its tailoring.

It consists of everyday luxury separates; starting from INR 6500/- and mimicks the sudden beauty and excitement that comes with the highs and lows of a lèher.

The collection is due to launch on 28th July, at www.studiorigu.com/
